Over Thanksgiving, instead eating too much turkey, I went to Machu Picchu.  A gallery and a few more words after the break.

Self portrait

Me on blue background

Normal I don’t like self portraits for obvious reasons (I ain’t that pretty). However, I had an idea for a shot a couple nights ago and I didn’t have a model around. I think it turned out pretty well, but I still don’t like pictures of myself. I always think I look strange in pictures.

Not wedding related but cool anyway

wayne

A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to be on a private jet. Unfortunately it stayed on the ground, but I just couldn’t resist getting a picture of myself in it. The picture was taken with a cheap cell phone, so the quality is pretty bad.

WPPI

wayne

I just got back from the WPPI show in Vegas and I’m still a little dazed.  I don’t have any pictures of the show, because I learned long ago not to bring anything heavy to conventions.  A colleague of mine, Elizabeth Etienne was speaking at the convention and had a booth there.  She was nice enough to let me bum in her hotel room, so in return I helped her carry some stuff around.  In between helping her, I got to wander around quite a bit and saw some cool stuff, well cool to wedding photographers anyway.  What really surprised me was I bumped into a couple of photographers I knew and I never bump into anybody.  I’m not anywhere near to being an established photographer, but I guess I’ve been around long enough to bump in colleagues at a convention.

Back to the show….  I saw quite a few things that gave me ideas for my business and actually bought a few items, one of which I’ll probably review later on.  The coolest thing though is what Pocket Wizard came out with.  If you’re a photographer who uses Nikon’s iTTL or Canon’s ETTL, you need to check out this link: http://www.pocketwizard.com/inspirations/technology/controltl/
